Ortega OCTA-8NS strings, great 8 string set!
I bought a couple sets of these for my Ortega RCE159-8, very happy with them! I’ve owned this guitar for about 7 years now and have mostly used either La Bella or Savarez silverwound strings. Finding the right gauges for the EBEADGBE tuning can be a bit tricky but those are the only other companies I know of who offer them. I decided to try this Ortega set again which are the original stock strings, made specifically for the tuning. They are very good quality. The tension balance is very spot on between the low 8th string E and 7th string B, and I find they have a bit stronger note clarity and projection compared to the equivalent gauges from the other mentioned brands. They are indeed higher priced, but I feel they are worth it for the specialty gauges and how well made the set is
