Achieved Is His Glorious Work (From the Creation) - String Orchestra
Product Description
Achieved is His Glorious Work (Vollendet is das grosse Werk) is the culminating moment from Haydn's masterpiece oratorio, The Creation (Die Schopfung). Originally written for chorus and full orchestra, the piece concludes the second part of the oratorio when the act of creation was completed by God in the book of Genesis. In this arrangement for intermediate strings, the parts have been transposed to G to allow the music to fall well within comfortable playing ranges for the players, while retaining the melodic splendor and rhythmic vitality of Haydn's original. It is also ideal for small string groups lacking a balanced instrumentation, as the cello doubles the bass throughout.
