Shed a Sweet Light (Hanukah) - for String Orchestra

Shed a Sweet Light, arranged by Cleo Goldberg, celebrates songs from the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah: a time of light, dancing the Horah, eating Latkes (potato pancakes), playing Dreidel (spinning top), and singing happy songs. S Vivon literally means spinning or dreidel, while Hanukkah, O Hanukkah is about the traditions of Hanukkah mentioned above. Shed a Sweet Light in E Minor explores mixed meters of 2/4 and 4/4, pizzicato, arco, and slurred 1/16 notes at Level 3. Cleo Goldberg passes the melody around the orchestra as the audience shares in the happiness of Shed a Sweet Light, a wonderful addition to your holiday string orchestra repertoire.
