Ricercar and Doubles on "To Many a Well"

This 12-minute chamber piece for flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, viola, cello, and harpsichord, was premiered at the Dartmouth Festival in 1959. Ricercar and Doubles is one of Sir Peter Maxwell Davies' earliest chamber works, crystalline and contained it inhabits both the 17th and 20th centuries in Max's inimitable style.
