Winter Solstice - CME Conductor's Choice

The words of the poem by Susan Bowker speak of that exact moment in time when light overcomes darkness, days begin to get longer and we have hope for the coming spring. The music is in three sections, the introduction is slow and somber until the sun appears "undefeated." The middle section is a dance of celebration and welcome to spring and renewal, followed by a joyous frenzy and explosion of voices in celebration.
